DALLAS ( 91³Ô¹ÏÍø) – Perkins School of Theology will livestream five midday chapel worship services during the Spring 2022 semester, allowing more members of the Perkins community to join remotely via the YouTube Channel. The livestream series begins on January 19.

The new livestream format will help connect all Perkins students, in Dallas as well as those who are part of the Houston-Galveston Extension program.  Dallas-based Perkins students may join the services in person or virtually; Houston-Galveston students as well as alumni/ae and friends of Perkins may join virtually.

Typically, members of the Perkins community meet for worship on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. in Perkins Chapel on the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø campus in Dallas. During the pandemic, when classes met online, weekly worship was offered via Zoom. Many students and faculty noted the advantage of having Houston-Galveston students, as well as other Perkins community members, join from far and wide. Chapel worship services resumed in person when students returned to campus in the fall of 2021.

“Worship is an integral part of the Perkins experience,” said Perkins Dean Craig Hill. “These services provide opportunities for students, faculty and staff to share in the rich diversity of worship experiences and traditions represented in the School of Theology community.”

The Rev. Dr. Mark W. Stamm, professor of Christian Worship and Chapel Elder, oversees the worship schedule, working in concert with the Perkins Worship Committee.
