Honors Convocation celebrates the academic excellence achieved by 91³Ô¹ÏÍø undergraduate students. This ceremony recognizes new honor society inductees, national fellowships, various distinguished scholarships and internships, school and departmental awards, and graduating University Honors Program students.

Please report to the box office inside the lobby of McFarlin Auditorium between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to receive an index card listing your accomplishment(s). It is imperative that you do not lose this card. After picking up the card, please go to the second level of McFarlin outside of the first balcony to line up for the procession. Staff will be there to assist you.
During the ceremony, you will be led to the stage by Chief Marshal Emeritus Thomas Fomby. As you approach the stage, you will hand your index card to the lector who will read your name. You will then receive congratulations and a small gift from Provost Loboa before being congratulated by President Turner and your school’s dean/director. Off stage, you will be given a lapel pin and certificate to commemorate the occasion.

Please arrive to the lower level of McFarlin Auditorium by 1:40 p.m.
You will receive a memento and faculty marshals will escort you to your seats. You will be acknowledged during the ceremony.
Unable to attend?
Honor society inductees, University Honors Program students and awardees unable to attend the ceremony can pick up their memento from the Enrollment Resources Service Counter in the Blanton Building starting Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Family and friends of students being honored and awarded are invited to attend the Honors Convocation. Tickets and RSVP for family and friends are not required. Dress is business casual. The ceremony is also .
Interior doors to the auditorium open at 1:30 p.m.
Honors Convocation is a special event – a time when we celebrate the accomplishments of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s finest students. The deadline to is to be announced. Retired and current faculty who have RSVP’d for the ceremony must arrive at McFarlin Auditorium in academic dress no later than 1:40 p.m. Please make your way to the third floor balcony area to line up for the procession. Academic Ceremonies staff and ushers will be on hand to assist you.
