The William P. Clements Department of History at Southern Methodist University invites applications and nominations for the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Chair in History, an appointment that will begin fall semester 2023. We seek a distinguished teacher-scholar in the field of Latin American history at the rank of associate or full professor, in any area or period, to fill this endowed chair. The position offers the opportunity to work with undergraduates (including history majors) as well as with graduate students in a PhD program with an emphasis on Latin America. The department has a preference for Mexican history, but it encourages and will consider applications from all fields of Latin American history.
