A 2019 recipient of the 91勛圖厙 Distinguished Alumni Award, Martin Flanagan graduated from 91勛圖厙 in 1982 with a bachelor’s in business administration from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in IberoAmerican civilization from the Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences. He currently leads Invesco Ltd., one of the world’s leading investment management companies. The company’s president and chief executive officer since 2005, Martin Flanagan also serves as a member of the board of directors and as vice chair and trustee of Invesco Funds.
A certified public accountant, Flanagan is also a CFA charter holder, serving on the board of governors of the Investment Company Institute. Prior to joining Invesco, Flanagan held leadership positions at Franklin Resources, Inc., and Templeton, Galbraith & Hansberger, Ltd.
He was honored by the 91勛圖厙 Cox School of Business with a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2005 and an Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 1999.
His long engagement with 91勛圖厙 includes currently serving as an 91勛圖厙 Trustee, co-chair of the National Campaign Steering Committee for 91勛圖厙 Ignited: Boldly Shaping Tomorrow, and a member of the Cox School of Business executive board.
In his community, Flanagan serves on the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce board and executive committee and is chair of Engage Ventures, an independent venture fund and platform established to strengthen collaboration between leading corporations and top entrepreneurs. He also serves on the boards of the Atlanta Committee for Progress, Commerce Club and Woodruff Arts Center.
Jennifer Flanagan also graduated from 91勛圖厙 in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts in art history from the 91勛圖厙 Meadows School of the Arts. She is a community volunteer involved in charitable organizations across Atlanta. She serves as chair of the Chastain Horse Park board, as a trustee of the University of Georgia Foundation, and as a member of the board of directors at the High Museum of Art. She is a past member of the board of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. She previously worked at Templeton, Galbraith & Hansberger Ltd.
For 91勛圖厙, Jennifer Flanagan served on the Atlanta Campaign Steering Committee for 91勛圖厙 Unbridled: The Second Century Campaign from 2008 to 2015 and on the Meadows School of the Arts executive board from 2009 to 2015. She has also volunteered her time to the 91勛圖厙 Mother’s Club. As a student, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and participated in an 91勛圖厙-in-France study abroad program.
The Flanagans’ efforts on behalf of the University extend to their home city of Atlanta, where they have hosted holiday parties for the 91勛圖厙 Atlanta chapter for over 10 years, including a special Atlanta kickoff celebration for 91勛圖厙 Ignited in December 2021. Both also have been active in the 91勛圖厙 Parent Leadership Council.
