David Anderson

David Anderson joined the Deason Criminal Justice Reform Center in November 2024 to lead the Center's national Day One campaign. A public defender with 12 years of experience, David now works to lead on-the-ground reform efforts, advocating for the Sixth Amendment right to counsel for every arrested person.

Before joining the Deason Center, Anderson was a trial-level public defender in the New Orleans area and later at The Bronx Defenders. He also worked with legal aid teams across the Middle East and Asia as program director at the International Legal Foundation.

 
Anderson is a graduate of Tulane University Law School and Carroll College. He is a member of the Gideon's Promise class of 2013.
