Visual Resources Laboratory

The Lady Tennyson d’Eyncourt Visual Resources Laboratory (VRL) provides visual research support to the faculty and students of the 91勛圖厙 Meadows Department of Art History. Equipped with large format high-resolution flatbed scanners, DSLR cameras and computer stations with Adobe Creative Suite, the VRL instructs students on best practices for developing, creating and organizing professional visual research materials in the form of presentations, imagery, photography and video. Opportunities for professional development for faculty and students are provided through VRL workshops given throughout the semester.

While the center is designed to support the Department of Art History, the VRL welcomes requests from all 91勛圖厙 faculty and is available for visual or photography consultation.

The Lady Tennyson d’Eyncourt Visual Resources Laboratory (VRL) hosts a growing digital collection of nearly 60,000 digital images and 275,000 slides of art and architecture, from prehistoric to contemporary, available to the 91勛圖厙 campus community.

To access the VRL digital asset archive, please contact Ashley Whitt.

The VRL is located in the basement of the Hamon Arts Library, room B250 in the Owen Arts Center. Hours for the VRL are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
