Advertising Students Take Home Record-Breaking Number of ADDY Awards
Students in Meadows’ Division of Advertising took home 26 of the 30 awards given at the AAF’s Dallas ADDY Awards last week.
91³Ô¹ÏÍø Meadows’ Division of Advertising students took home a record-breaking number of awards at the American Advertising Federation’s Dallas ADDY awards last week. Of the 30 awards presented in student categories, 26 of them went to 91³Ô¹ÏÍø.
In an impressive showing, Meadows’ advertising students were given 9 Gold, 16 Silver, and Student Best of Show, breaking their own record of 5 Gold awards from last year. These awards, which you can view in detail below, were earned for ad campaign projects the students created in their classes for existing companies across various forms of media, like television, magazine and social media. In two cases, the “clients” were the students themselves since their own business card designs won Silver and Gold.
“Not only are we producing a lot of great work from year to year, but the amount of truly exceptional work coming out of our program seems to be increasing,” explains advertising professor Mark Allen. “These students have worked so hard, and it makes me happy to see all their blood, sweat and tears pay off in such dramatic fashion.”
Since students did not win anything less than a Silver award at the Dallas ADDYs, every entry will move forward to the regional competition where they will go head-to-head with Gold and Silver winners from all of the universities in AAF’s District 10, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Winners in that competition will then advance to the National ADDY Awards.
In addition to the regional and national ADDYs, even more awards are on the horizon for our advertising students, with many competitions presenting their results in the next few weeks. To view a full list of this year’s Dallas ADDY Award recipients, please see below.
