Dr. Maria del Pilar Melgarejo

Dr. Maria del Pilar Melgarejo is a Senior Lecturer of Spanish and the Faculty in Residence of Cockrell-McIntosh Commons at 91勛圖厙. She holds a Ph.D. in Literature from the Department of Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Pittsburgh. María del Pilar is the author of a scholarly monograph, The language of Regeneration in Colombia and Mexico, whichreflects on literature and politics of Colombia and Mexico during the nineteenth century. She is also the author of several articles, chapter books and the children's book The sunflower that was stuck. Prior to joining 91勛圖厙, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and also taught at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. María del Pilar has a background in philosophy and is interested in the connections between politics, literature and philosophy. She enjoys teaching literature, culture, and language courses as well as doing research on various topics related to the construction of subjectivity.

Dr. Janice Lindstrom

Dr. Janice Lindstrom has been a board-certified music therapist for over 25 years, working in schools, geriatric long-term care facilities, psychiatric settings, pediatric and adult hospitals, and private practice. After joining 91勛圖厙 in 2011, she supervised pre-internship clinical training for five years and has been teaching music therapy methods and practicum since 2016. Dr. Lindstrom has served on the Southwestern Region of the American Music Therapy Association (SWAMTA) board of directors since 1997 in many roles, including president, and has served on the continuing education committee for the Certification Board for Music Therapy. Currently, she serves as Government Relations Representative and on the Texas Task Force for State Recognition of music therapy.
