Casita Clements - Gold
Casita Clements is a 3,350 square foot facility constructed on the 91勛圖厙-in-Taos Campus. The building was designed and constructed with the goal of achieving LEED Gold.
The project reached substantial completion on May 1, 2009.
Casita Clements is the first new student housing facility constructed on the 91勛圖厙-in-Taos Campus in nearly thirty (30) years. The student housing facility sleeps eighteen (18) in six (6) dormitory rooms. Features include a vaulted ceiling in the common room and a separate study room.
Casita Clements is expected to use substantially less potable water than would a facility constructed conventionally. The building saves potable water by employing ultra-low flow lavatory faucets in bathroom sinks and housekeeping sinks. Radiant heat is delivered via baseboard units. Cooling is enhanced during summer through upper story clerestory windows that can be opened and closed to take advantage of mountain breezes.
